At 22, I left my home in London for the first time and moved to Dubai to begin my career in banking. Three months later, my father fell ill.
By 26, I was unhappy in my career and chose to return to London to pursue an MBA, a step I hoped would give me credibility before joining the family business. During the first year of my MBA, my father passed away.
Shortly after, I took on leading the family’s work, facing decisions and challenges far beyond my experience.
I had to navigate long-standing relationships and find my place in a dynamic that had existed long before me. At the same time, I was making significant decisions in our family’s affairs, some of which led to big mistakes and losses.
By my early 30s, I had started to find my rhythm and rebuild my confidence.
At 32, I married, and soon faced the breakdown of a toxic relationship that ended in divorce. Just as work was beginning to stabilise, I felt like I was failing in my personal life, overwhelmed all over again.
Looking back, I can see how much I would have benefited from guidance during those years. The path would have been heavy either way, but having someone to guide me would have offered a clearer way to approach challenges, brought reassurance, confidence and helped me trust myself more.
Today, I run an investment company with confidence and vision, but I know how overwhelming the journey felt getting here. Dawwi was created to offer you the kind of support I wish I’d had, helping you find clarity, confidence, and direction when life feels overwhelming.
